COMMUNITY?

You’ll find all this and more at a Catholic school.

It's our mission to create vibrant Catholic school communities where every student finds meaning and purpose in their life through experiencing continual growth in faith and improvement in learning.

We believe every child deserves the opportunity to discover who they are and what they believe, and to learn how to succeed in a complex, changing world. That's why we're committed to making high-quality, faith-filled education affordable, accessible and available to as many families as possible.

"Vibrant Catholic communities"

Our communities are vibrant when there is a genuine partnership between home, parish, and school, and when everyone feels safe, connected, and included. Our schools are distinctly Catholic and centred on the person of Jesus Christ. This means they are open to all who share in our mission and purpose, and they flourish best when the diversity of every student and family is valued and respected.

"Meaning and purpose"

Jesus came so that all may have life and have it to the full. As bearers of Christ’s love, we are called to faithfully present the liberating message of the Gospel to the children and young people in our schools, and provide a hope-filled alternative to narratives that undermine students’ sense of value, self-worth, and confidence.

“Growth in faith”

Catholic schools were established to put Christ and his teachings at the centre of people’s lives. They are a key part of the evangelising mission of the Church and their first aim is to support the holistic formation and growth in faith of each student. This is best achieved through invitation to a personal encounter with Jesus, meaningful engagement with the traditions of the Church, and participation in God’s mission through outreach and service to others.

“Improvement in learning”

Our Catholic schools must be at least the equal of all other schools in the quality of education provided to our students. We are called to engage all students by setting high expectations and providing effective learning experiences that recognise diversity and optimise every student’s academic potential and life opportunity.

Our values

Our values are more than words on the wall. Hope, Integrity, Justice and Compassion are the driving force behind who we are and what we do.

Hope
Integrity
Justice
Compassion

Hope

Hope is the space where faith opens us to new possibilities. It is expressed in a confidence that challenges can be overcome and that a better future is possible.

“Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.  Love never fails.”

- 1 Corinthians 13:7-8

Integrity

Integrity is the consistent demonstration of truth irrespective of circumstance or consequence. It is expressed in openness and transparency of speech, behaviours, and decision-making.

“Keep alert; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong.  Everything that you do should be done in love.”

- 1 Corinthians 16:13-14

Justice

Justice is attention to all perspectives that enable equity. It is expressed in structural and procedural fairness in both decision-making and the treatment of others.

“Jesus said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul, and with all your mind.” This is the greatest and the first commandment.  The second is like it: “You shall love your neighbour as yourself.”

- Matthew 22:37-39

Compassion

Compassion is recognising the truth of other people's lives. It is expressed in actions that encourage growth and protect the dignity of others.

“Jesus said to Simon Peter, “Simon, son of John, do you love me more than these?”  He replied, “Yes, Lord, you know that I love you.”  Jesus said to him, “Feed my lambs.”

- John 21:15-18
